Florence Mannion

We are excited to announce that our first Spotlight On Section will go to one of our longest serving and truly dedicated volunteers—Florence Mannion.

Florence Mannion, a 25-year member of the Somerset County Federation of Republican Women, was a “trailblazer” before the term was coined.  Born in 1920 while Woodrow Wilson was in the White House, Florence lived through the Great Depression, an experience that taught her lessons that have shaped her life. Florence has worked throughout her life and has owned and operated several businesses in the tri-state area.

Throughout the decades, Florence has served on numerous committees in Somerset County and in her town of North Plainfield. Specifically, Florence has served as Chairman of the North Plainfield Economic Development Committee and Chairman of the Library Advisory Board in North Plainfield.

Florence is the proud mother of one son and greatly enjoys spending time with her six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Florence says, “the secret to life is to never live in the past.”  Her mantra has kept her young at heart and constantly giving back to the Republican Party and her community.
